CARVING PUMPKINS!!
We finally tackled the pumpkins! Marcus tried the newspaper thing to catch some of the mess, but as you can see it was not successful. The kids had a good time, although Mia wouldn't touch the "pumpkin guts". She also chose to carve the smallest pumpkin (which was so tough we needed a chainsaw) then she used my largest wooded spoon to clean it out, needless to say it does not have a face, just the top cut off. FUN TIMES!

Annual Carnival!
It is OVER!! The most difficult part of being on the PTO is this time of year. It is a HUGE tradition in our community that has become even more HUGE the last few years! Last night we had more out of town people than our own community. There were great costumes, many adults dressed up this year. We had a bake sale, with homemade candy, cinnamon rolls, cakes, cookies, pies etc. , thanks to the support of everyone in the area (even those with no children in school). We do raise a large amount of money for our school, but the stress it takes to get this all pulled together is almost overwhelming. It is a great thing to have this large task complete.
The up-side of the carnival,...the kids had a blast. We have kept ticket prices (for games) at 25 cents, so it's one night the kids can play and enjoy the night without breaking the bank. Most go home with more treats than they get while trick or treating.
Around our house it seems like Christmas. Madi woke up at 3:00 a.m night before last and was wide awake talking about the carnival and how well she did on her reading. What a fun time to be a kid...a parent getting OLDER...not so much fun. I try to pretend. Sorry about the picture of the kids, the black background blended Madi and Mia in too well. Madi was a witch, Mia a bumble bee, McKay a Zombee type creature (thrown together last minute), and Whit a mummy, they sure love dressing up!! (a tip for the mummy, start early and use glue, Whit was unraveling!)
Oh...another side note, the quilt raised over $500.00. I sure appreciate these very kind lady's with so much talent, and big hearts!! My mom, Penny Hatch, Joan Sagers, and Pam Black not in the photo. LINDA HATCH was the winner, lucky her huh!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! ENJOY THE KIDS WHILE THEY STILL ENJOY THIS EXCITING HOLIDAY:)

Let the Hunt begin!
The guys had a great time on the mountain! Marcus thought the best part of hunting was the good food! They hiked and hiked and saw nothing, well... nothing to shoot. They all slept in a huge tent, that Chet and Russ kept warm by adding wood EVERY hour. They had plenty of treats, pop and good times. Marcus said they had a main fire for the camp, and about 3 others that they young boys started for their camps. Uncle Don, Danny and Ayden came up for an evening.
All others attending: Russ and boys, Chet and boys, Wes and Hunter, Ethan, Marcus and McKay, and Grandpa T.
Yes....the mom is heart broken that they didn't get a deer;(
Visit from Grandma & Grandpa Batchelor
It was a quick visit, but we really enjoyed having them here. We put on an extra blanket, flannel sheets and added a space heater in their room ( it sounds like we cooked Gary). Grandma brought fun treasures from Grandma Hickman's house for Mia and Madi, they sure looked beautiful with their new bling at CHURCH! We were in a hurry to get a picture before church so I am not really impressed with my skills, at least we have one for memory. They gave great talks in church, even with Mia waving and saying Grandpa Gary, Grandpa Gary from the audience. Thanks again for coming G&G Batchelor, we sure love you! (by the way Grandma B. A little catching up to do!
My sister-in-law informed me that I was a little slow on the blogging! At least she is checking it out (thanks for the little push Carrie)! I thought I would shock you all and do a week or two in review. It seems that the weeks just blend into one another. I have enjoyed this blogging adventure so far, it just takes a little time. What a great way enjoy the day to day adventures!
It's beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS!
Halloween Carnival Quilt
Just me and my dad!
They say it's your Birthday!
So McKay took his party into his own hands, by making invitaions and delivering them. We have grown out of the kid birthday parties and moved on to family only (with moms encouragment).
Meg, Whit and Madi created the cake. Turned out cute huh!
What a blessing McKay is in our home. He is easy going, smiling and energetic, always!
We love you so much McKay! Look at that cute face!
Helping out at Aunt Joanne's new house!
